The 2009 Toyota Tacoma is leading the way towards a safer generation of pickups. Building on the standard Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), the 2009 Toyota Tacoma features the STAR Safety System – adding Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution and Brake Assist.
VSC is designed to keep the truck under control in adverse situations by preventing wheel slip. During emergency situations, Brake Assist increases brake pressure, helping the driver take control of the situation. The 2009 Tacoma also sports standard airbags in the front and rear – as well as active headsets to help prevent phone related accidents.
